Each year, the Vista Unified Council of PTAs along with members of the school community participate in the installation of the Officers for the coming school year as well as celebrate the recipients of the Honorary Service Awards. These awards are a way for our Council to publicly acknowledge both individuals and organizations for outstanding community service to children and youth in a community. We will be gathering on Thursday, May 7, 2025 at 11am at VIDA Middle School. 

The following awards will be honored:

• Very Special Person Award (VSP) – This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for their service to PTA. 

• Honorary Service Award (HSA) – This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for outstanding service to children and youth in your community, going above and beyond what is asked of them. 

• Continuing Honorary Service Award (CHSA) – This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for ongoing or long-time service to children and youth, providing support year after year. 

• Outstanding Teacher Award (OTA) – This award may be given to recognize a teacher for outstanding service to children and youth through PTA, school, or community. 

• Outstanding Administrator Award (OAA) – This award may be given to recognize an administrator for outstanding service to children and youth through PTA, school, or the community. 

• Community Partner Award - Recognizes a community partner for their exceptional support demonstrated to the community.

• Golden Oak Service Award - This may be given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in the PTSA, school, or community. This award should be given to recognize exceptional service to children and youth. It is the PTA’s most prestigious award.   

• Elected Official Award - May be given to an elected official for special recognition for outstanding service to children. When giving the award please make the recipient aware that when accepting the award, they may not make political speeches. PTA is a non-partisan organization and we do not allow politics at events.
